Shreveport police have released the name of the three-year-old girl who died after being left inside a parked car.  Sariah Delafosse was found in a vehicle that was parked in the driveway outside her home in the 3000 block of Desoto Street.

Caddo Coroner Todd Thoma says the little girl died of a heat stroke.  Police were called to the home after a frantic 911 call from the child's mother, Krystal Delafosse, saying her daughter was dead.  She was interviewed by detectives, but not charged.

Delafosse reportedly returned home during the evening hours of July 4th and got out of her vehicle, forgetting her child was still inside.  She found Sariah the next day as she was getting ready to leave her home at around 4:30 p.m.  She'd been there for nearly a full day.  The investigation into the girl's death continues.

Local officials say this tragedy is another painful reminder to always check for your children before you get out of your vehicle.
