Shreveport's Centenary College is, once again, hosting the Annual Statewide Conference of the United Methodist Church.

The conference began today and runs through Wednesday.  Delegates from across the state will spend the next few days attending special services, discussing church-related issues, and getting to know each other better.

The four-day event is being led by Bishop Cynthia Fierro Harvey in her first year as episcopal leader of the conference.  She will present her episcopal address to the conference tomorrow morning at 11:15 in Brown Chapel on the Centenary campus.

The theme for this year's conference is inspired by Exodus 34:10 -- "Blessings in the Wilderness"
