An agreement has been signed to create a "learning bridge" between two higher education institutions in opposite corners of the state. Centenary College President David Rowe and LSU Chancellor Michael Martin have entered into an agreement to explore ways that Centenary students can do graduate work at LSU. A working group of representatives from both schools will be meeting over the summer to work out the specifics. Initially, the concept involves developing graduate certificates in Sustainable Energy Development and in Wetlands and Coastal Ecology at Cntenary. Once a student earns that certificate, he or she would then continue graduate studies at LSU.  Officials from both schools say the program could be implemented as soon as the Fall 2012 semester.
