Caddo Parish Burn Ban Lifted

The Caddo Fire Chiefs Association has lifted the burn ban for all of Caddo Parish. The National Weather Service Office in Shreveport has reported nearly two inches of rain over the last two months with another round expected next Wednesday and next weekend.

A Sunday-morning fire has damaged a church in the MLK area. Just before 8 yesterday morning, a deacon of St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church in the 1300 block of MLK Drive arrived to open the church and found heavy smoke coming from the rear of the building

As the drought persists, so, too, does the risk of more wildfires. The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a Red Flag Warning for all of the Ark-La-Tex. It's in effect until 7 pm CDT this evening.
