The Townsquare Media Virginia College "Little Black Dress Party" presented by Bailey's Jewelers was a huge success, with many partygoers enjoying fashion deals, raffle prizes and fabulous entertainment all evening long. Local entertainment writers rated it the number one event in Shreveport this year.

Week Three is in the books, and it was an exciting one featuring a slugfest between two top five teams, the end of the nation’s longest winning streak and a bunch of outstanding individual performances. Here is this week’s wrap-up from the top 25.
#1 Oklahoma 23, #5 Florida State 13
Oklahoma’s defense dominated the game, holding the Seminoles to just 27 yards rushing, forcing three turnovers and getting six sacks. Oklahoma sophomore receiver Kenny Stills had seven catches for 125 yards, including the eventual game-winner, a 37-yard jump ball reception for a touchdown with 7:00 to go in the fourth quarter.

Well, it seems like our own Angela Thomas spent the morning at the festival, and unbeknownst to me I might add.  But, I must have gotten there right after she left Saturday.  Or its possible I was sitting at an unbrella table eating, and eating, and eating.  There were several great food vendors, including this vendor that had the most fabulous $5 Beef Fajita Salad I have ever had in my life.

Although we didn't bring any kids on the trip, it was pretty obvious that Beaches Boscobel Resort and Golf Club is a great place for kids.

As we were heading down to breakfast this morning, we walked by the Sesame Street character breakfast. The kids inside were having a blast, dancing with Elmo and hugging Cookie Monster. The little ones were bouncing around, elated to sit down for a meal with their favorite characters. There are various shows and activities to do throughout the day with Sesame Street, like finding the letter of the day with Grover, exercising with Elmo and looking for rubber duckies with Ernie.

Our first excursion during our stay at the Beaches Boscobel Luxury Included Resort and Golf Club was a catamaran cruise on the beautiful and exciting oceans after a morning full of "liquid sunshine."

The highlight of the cruise was lying on the "trampoline" on the front, a series of criss-crossed ribbons that form a webbing with nothing but ocean several feet beneath, and being splashed as the catamaran crested the waves. We also stopped for a while to swim in the ocean, which was surprisingly warm, and even found a starfish and several sea urchins by diving down to the bottom. On the short ride back to the resort, the crew taught us some Jamaican dancing, and the DJ mixed in a few fun American songs for us to enjoy.
