Louisiana Legislators Pledge to Change Law Preventing Donation of Deer Meat
Public outrage hit a fever pitch last week when it was discovered that $8,000 worth of deer meat donated by hunters to feed the homeless was destroyed by the State Department of Health and Hospitals. However, local politicians have delivered a quick response and a promise: this won't happen again.
Louisiana State Representative Jeff Thompson (R-Bossier City) held a press conference on Monday (Feb. 25) to discuss how Louisiana will handle hunters' donations in the future and how the destroyed venison will be replaced.

The Krewe of Aesclepius Mardi Gras Upstate Party 2013 [PICS]
Last night, following their children's parade at Pierre Bossier Mall, the Krewe of Aesclepius hosted the annual Upstate Party at their den. All of the area krewes are invited to attend this last hurrah to the Mardi Gras season before the final closing ceremonies with Father Provenza on the Texas Street Bridge.

The Krewe of Centaur Rode Proud at Saturday’s Mardi Gras Parade in Shreveport [PHOTOS]
The Krewe of Centaur showcased amazing floats, great costumes and no small amount of Mardi Gras beads at their annual Mardi Gras parade in Shreveport this past Saturday (February 2). We were lucky enough to have the chance to ride in our own Townsquare Media Shreveport float during the event, taking in the sights and sounds of the estimated 200,000 people who showed up to party.
