Hurricane Irene Hits East Coast Of U.S. [PHOTOS]

The remnants of Irene reached Canada Monday after barreling through the northeastern United States where the storm claimed at least 18 lives and caused estimated economic damage of up to $7 billion.

Millions of people were without power along the East Coast after the huge storm -- now downgraded to a post-tropical cyclone -- passed over the Big Apple and headed for Canada.

But Understanding 9/11: A Television News Archive feels that that footage is essential as a “resource for scholars, journalists, and the public,” and has archived 3,000 hours of it, along with timelines and scholarly analysis.

You still have time to make out to the Bossier Civic Center and check out gear for hunting (archery, guns, atvs), fishing, and everything you can do outdoors. Artist Creates Supersized Candy Sculptures [PHOTO]

Much is made of artists’ muses: Pablo Picasso had Marie-Thérèse Walter, Pedro Almodóvar has Penelope Cruz and Nicola Freeman has…candy necklaces and lollipops. The British art student sculpted humongous approximations of those and other sweets for an exhibition currently showing at the University of Wolverhampton.
