Minorities Were Targeted in ‘Revenge Attacks’ Following September 11 [VIDEO]

In the weeks and months following the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks, many Americans became more patriotic. They tied yellow ribbons around trees, raised the flag, donated blood and enlisted in the military. Others, however, decided to seek revenge, and because their targets were so far away, they opted to hurt anyone who appeared to fit a specific profile.

In the past 10 years, the FBI has investigated more than 800 cases of violence against Arab-Americans, Muslims, Sikhs or people perceived to be of Middle Eastern origin. It is unknown how many of these “revenge attacks” were investigated by local authorities, but some were fatal.

Which States Have the Highest Marriage and Divorce Rates?

The 2009 Census reveals that while couples in western and southern states marry more often, they also divorce at a higher rate than those in other areas of the US.

Andrew Cherlin, a professor of sociology and public policy at Johns Hopkins University, said, “Surprisingly, the south and west, which we think of as more socially conservative, have higher rates of divorce than does the supposedly liberal east. The reason is that young adults in the south and west tend to have less education and marry earlier, both of which lead to a higher risk of divorce.”

Search & Rescue Group FIles Civil Suit Against Casey Anthony

The search and rescue group that organized the search for Caylee Anthony has filed a civil suit against her mother, Casey Anthony, to recover money spent in the search to find the girl.

Anthony, 25, was found not guilty in her daughter's 2008 death last week and is scheduled to be released from prison on Sunday after receiving credit for time served on a four-year sentence, CNN reported.
