Monday, April 22 is Earth Day, and schools across Shreveport and Bossier will be doing their part to keep the planet healthy and educate the public on how they can help.

The internationally-acclaimed Centenary College Choir will be joining local community choirs Sunday morning for a special Easter Sunrise Service at Hodges Gardens State Park. The service begins at 6:00am but no one will be admitted to the park after 5:45.

Easter includes Good Friday and Easter Sunday and are always threes days apart. Easter refers to Easter Sunday which is the day the resurrection of Jesus is remembered. Good Friday commemorates the day that Jesus Christ was crucified on a cross.

St. Patrick's Day is this coming Sunday and you can celebrate with us in the Patty in the Plaza!  There is bound to be some soda bread, corned beef, and even some beer consumed for the holiday.

Are you working today?  Presidents' Day is a federal holiday primarily designed to celebrate the birthday of President George Washington.  Actually, it's not really called Presidents' Day.  According to the federal government, it is Washington's Day.

Presidents’ Day, is observed on the third Monday in February. It falls on Feb. 18 this year. Presidents’ Day was established in 1885 to recognize President George Washington's birthday which is on the 22, and is still officially called “Washington’s Birthday” by the federal government.
