Last night, following their children's parade at Pierre Bossier Mall, the Krewe of Aesclepius hosted the annual Upstate Party at their den. All of the area krewes are invited to attend this last hurrah to the Mardi Gras season before the final closing ceremonies with Father Provenza on the Texas Street Bridge.
Mardi Gras is sadly coming to a close in the Ark-La-Tex tomorrow with the arrival of Fat Tuesday, but that doesn't mean the fun has come to an end! The Krewe of Aesclepius is hosting their annual children's parade at 7pm at Pierre Bossier Mall.
Believe it or not, yesterday was my first time at the Krewe of Barkus and Meoux Pet Parade and I was delighted! There were tons of vendors and pet organizations along with children's activities and a LOT of pets. Pets big and small descended upon Riverview Park under sunny skies and

February 4, 2013 Shreveport Public Assembly and Recreation has kicked off its annual canned food drive, which runs through February 25th. SPAR Superintendent Nick Robberson says the goal this year is 8,000 canned goods.

As Erin's big Mardi Gras parade weekend approaches and her inner tug-o-war between fun and common sense sways toward the sensible (at least for the time being), she came across this list of 'Things You Shouldn't Do After Age 40'...and realized she may attempt at least four or five of them in a single afternoon. That would, by the way, be at Saturday's 'festivities on a float'.
