Cell Phone Bill Fails!
The House kills the bill that would ban hand-held cell phone use while driving by a vote of 55 to 33on the house floor. Highway safety stats show 14 people died in 2009 in car crashes involving a driver using a hand held phone. That argument wasn’t good enough for law makers to support the ban.
Two Bossier City Police Officers To Be Honored At City Council Meeting
Bossier City Police Chief Shane McWilliams will honor two officers for their actions in responding to a double stabbing that occurred in March. Chief McWilliams will present the department’s Life Saving Bar to Officer Joshua Cheatwood and the Commendation Bar to Officer Stephen Boothe during tomorrow’s (June 7) regular city council meeting at 3p.m. in the Bossier City Council Chambers, 620 Benton Road.
