A group in Arkansas has raised $1.2 Million to campaign for the legalization of casinos in their state. They're calling themselves Driving Arkansas Forward is hoping to bring gaming to West Memphis, Hot Springs, Jefferson and Pope counties. They've also submitted petitions for the proposal which is currently under review by secretary of state KTBS is reporting. The Cherokee and Quapaw tribes are the largest groups pushing for this change in Arkansas.

"The decision ultimately lies in the will of the people of Arkansas," said Amanda Clinton, vice president of communications for Cherokee Nation Businesses. ArkansasOnline reports that the group has until August 24th to get the rest of the 84,859 signatures to get the proposal in the November ballot. So far it looks like everyone is pretty confident that they'll get the signatures needed.
