Carthage Man Goes To Prison for Drug Trafficking

A Carthage man has been sentenced to 24 months in federal prison for drug trafficking. That's according to U.S. Attorney John M. Bales, who released the information just last week.

Roy Daniel Tatum, 50, pleaded guilty in September to possession of pseudoephedrin with the intent to manufacture methamphetamine.

According to court records,  Tatum purchased cold pills containing pseudoephedrine at a store in Henderson on March 9, 2012, and admitted to purchasing cold pills six more times between March 9 and April 8, 2010, with the intent to manufacture meth.

The purchases contained a combined total of 18.72 grams of pseudoephedrine.

The sentence was handed down by U.S. Judge Michael H. Schneider after Tatum was indicted last  April.
