College students in class

Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator is helping students prepare for their college send-off by offering a one-day safety course addressing issues that specifically apply to them.

Young men and women ages 17-21 are encouraged to attend the course from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 24 at Sheriff’s Safety Town, 8910 Jewella Avenue. Professional instructors and law enforcement officers will present important crime prevention tips and safety techniques specifically for students entering college.

Participants will receive information on personal safety and self-defense, travel safety, distracted and impaired driving, protecting your identity and possessions, banking and finances, dating violence, sexual assault awareness, and drug and alcohol awareness.There is no charge for the course, but seating is limited.
