Two overnight shootings in Caddo Parish have deputies busy as they try to piece together what exactly happened and if the two shootings were, in fact, related.

Caddo Patrol Deputies were called to the 300 block of Pecan Street in Vivian at about 9:40 p.m. Thursday night, where a group of juveniles in a vehicle were fired upon after they drove by and threw rocks at a vehicle parked at that location. According to investigators, 23-year-old Isaavior J. Evans emerged from the residence where the parked car was located and fired multiple shots at the juveniles’ vehicle. No one was injured but the juveniles’ car was damaged.

Evans was detained by the Sheriff’s Office later that night when he showed up at North Caddo Hospital where a man was being treated for an injury received in a drive-by shooting in Rodessa. Sheriff’s detectives believe the drive-by in Rodessa was in retaliation for the juveniles being shot at in Vivian.

The drive-by call was dispatched at 1:30 a.m. after occupants in a white sedan fired shots at several people who were standing outside a house in the 10000 block of Main Street. 22-year-old Demetrius Owens of Rodessa, was shot in the chin and was taken to North Caddo Hospital for treatment. He was later transferred to University Health.

The Rodessa shooting remains under investigation. Evans was charged with aggravated assault for firing the shots in Vivian. He has been booked into Caddo Correctional Center.
