Caddo Schools Head Wants To Close Three More Schools

As his reorganization of Caddo Parish schools continues, School Superintendent Dr. Lamar Goree proposed closing three more Shreveport schools Thursday night at the meeting of the Parish School Board.

Goree urged the board to close Lakeshore Middle School and two elementary schools, Atkins and Queensborough. That move comes on the heels of the school board's recent motion to close Shreveport's Fair Park High (converting it to a middle school) and move its students to the city's Booker T. Washington HS.
