Caddo Parish officials have vowed to do everything they can to keep the General Motors Assembly Plant in Shreveport -- despite word again this week that the plant is slated for closure no later than September 30, 2012.  Caddo Commission President Ken Epperson has drafted a resolution asking Governor Bobby Jindal and Economic Development Secretary Stephen Moret to contact GM officials again and to look for even more incentives than those offered in December of 2010 to keep the plant here.  At the same time, Epperson says he'd like to talk with GM officials, himself, and find out why that 2010 offer was rejected by the giant automaker.  In the meantime the RACER Trust, which has controlled the Shreveport plant since March, is getting ready to move forward with an aggressive marketing plan.  Redevelopment Manager Bruce Rasher says he'll be back in town in a couple of weeks to sit down with city, parish, and state officials to develop a marketing brochure.  And he tells me he's already received several unsolicited inquiries about the plant.
