Caddo Parish Administrator Dr. Woodrow "Woody" Wilson, Jr, has been appointed to the Louisiana State Board of Commerce and Industry by Governor John Bel Edwards.

Dr Wilson has served as Caddo Parish Administrator for ten of his fifteen years with the Parish.

In a release from Caddo Parish, Dr. Wilson's new job is explained:

The Commerce and Industry Board, composed of 24 members representing the State’s major economic groups, works to provide benefits and incentives as an inducement for businesses to located or expand new operations in Louisiana. The board has approval authority over the Enterprise Zone, Quality Jobs, Restoration Tax Abatement, Industrial Ad Valorem Tax Exemption, Industry Assistance and Tax Equalization programs.

“I consider it a great honor and privilege to be appointed to the Commerce and Industry Board by Governor Edwards, and look forward to serving the citizens of our State as we work to cultivate opportunities for growth,” said Wilson.

Dr. Wilson has been appointed for a four-year term. The board meets bi-monthly.
