Heavy rains in and around the Ark-La-Tex have increased the potential for flooding in this already water logged area. On Monday morning, the Caddo Office Of Homeland Security along with other area leaders met with the National Weather Service to discuss the current and upcoming weather conditions.

In a press release from Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator's office, it states The National Weather Service reported areas of Caddo Parish received 7” of rainfall in Caddo Lake Friday and Saturday – draining into Red River. Rain moved through the area Monday morning, but it should be dry for the next 7 days. The release gave estimates on local water levels as well.

Red River Shreveport will crest at 32’ at 8 AM Tuesday and will begin to drop off Wednesday.
Caddo Lake cresting at 178’ Monday (2’ lower than last month).
12 mile Bayou near Dixie cresting at 39’ Wednesday.
Cross Lake is already receding and will return to near 171’ by the middle of this week.
Wallace Lake will crest near 152’ (up to 153’ depending on local rainfall).
Black Bayou at Rodessa crested at 17.1’ and will recede throughout this week.

Caddo Parish residents can pick up sandbags from the Parish Public Works facility located at 1701 Monty Street between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. weekdays. Each pick up is limited to 25 bags. Inmates from the Caddo Correctional Center filled and handed out over 1,000 sandbags yesterday. The City of Shreveport also has sandbags available from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. located at 3825 Mansfield Rd.
