Caddo Deputy To Represent State D.A.R.E. Organization

A Caddo Sheriff's Deputy has received a very big honor, and will use her new position to help keep school-aged kids away from drugs and violence.

Deputy LaTienda Pierre Davis was sworn in as the 2016-17 President of the Louisiana D.A.R.E. Officers Association during the group’s annual awards banquet in Alexandria this past Thursday.

A press release from the CPSO details what Davis will have in store for her over the next year.

During her year as President, Davis along with her LDOA Board of Directors will represent the Louisiana D.A.R.E. program, oversee and plan all activities and training for the 26th annual LDOA Training Conference, and oversee other projects involving the association. The training conference will be held in Shreveport-Bossier City next July.

The Louisiana D.A.R.E. Officers Association was started in 1991 and includes an estimated 175 D.A.R.E. officers throughout the state.
Davis is an 11-year deputy with the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office and is assigned to Youth Services. She teaches the D.A.R.E. curriculum at five Caddo Parish elementary schools - Donnie Bickham, Blanchard, Keithville, Walnut Hill, and Southfield.

In addition to serving as a D.A.R.E. instructor, Davis has served in both administrative and P.O.S.T. certified positions such as Jail Records, Internal Affairs/ Risk Management, Corrections, Corrections Field Training Officer, Re-entry instructor and Booking. She also is a member of the Northwest Louisiana Internet Crimes against Children Task Force.

Davis has a B.A. in Mass Communications/Marketing/Public Relations from University of Louisiana at Monroe and a M.A. in Criminal Justice/History from Louisiana State University in Shreveport. Currently, she is working on earning a Doctorate of Education in Leadership Studies from LSUS.
