A Caddo sheriff's deputy will be honored next week.

Corporal James Norwood will receive the department's Lifesaving Award for saving the life of his neighbor's 9-month-old son, who lost consciousness after choking on a Lego toy. Norwood was off-duty at at home August 11 when his neighbor brought the child to him and asked for help. Norwood was able to clear the toy from the baby's throat and restore his breathing.

The award presentation is set for 8:30AM October 20 at the Sheriff's Re-Entry Facility, located at 1121 Forum Drive.
