Updates on a couple of big Caddo District Court cases we've been following...Alasundria Avery and Robert Glen Coleman will return to court to continue arguments on motions filed by their attorneys. Coleman's defense team has filed a motion for a new trial. Judge Mike Pitman has set the next court date for March 20th, and is expected to rule on the motion then. Avery's hearing this morning has been continued until March 5th at 9:30 a.m. Judge Pitman will hear the conclusion of arguments on a motion to recuse the Caddo District Attorney's office from Avery's murder case -- and the State versus Rodney Salone case, in which she is the alleged victim.

In addition, a Caddo Parish grand jury has returned four indictments in murder and rape cases. They are: 33-year-old Danny Battle, for second-degree murder in the January shooting death of Lakeia Rawls at a home in the 3800 block of Conway; 41-year-old Byron Lloyd, for second-degree murder in the December 2011 shooting death of Ray Williams in the 3500 block of Twilight Lane; 36-year-old Robert Washington, Junior, on an amended indictment for aggravated kidnapping and aggravated rape. He's scheduled for a jury trial March 5th. And 30-year-old Brandon Moore, indicted for aggravated rape.
