Caddo Parish Commissioner Lyndon Johnson says it's time for the Parish Commission to disband its citizens advisory committee and take a vote on the removal of the Confederate monument at the Parish Courthouse in downtown Shreveport.

Johnson says the committee, formed nine months ago, has yet to send a report to the Commission and should be relieved of their duties. He also says that some commissioners want to wait on the citizens' report to delay having to vote on the removal of the statue, which has stood at its current location since early in the 20th century.
