The burn chamber has finished the long journey to Webster Parish.

The slow journey of a massive burn chamber is over. The giant load made it to Camp Minden Thursday afternoon. The chamber will be used to destroy millions of pounds explosives at Camp Minden.

What happens now is that tests will be done for about 30 days to make sure the burn chamber works as expected.

The chamber is a necessary component of a process specially designed to destroy about 16 million pounds of M-6 propellant. Much of the complex where the chamber will be set up is ready to go. Once the testing is complete, the burning will start.

It could take as long as a year to destroy all of the dangerous explosive materials.
