A local business will "scan" a downtown building for historical records this week. The Ogilvie Hardware building, due to be completely restored, will be preserved for history with the help of Bossier City business Landpoint, Inc. At 9 tomorrow morning, Landpoint will set up a piece of equipment called an HDS scanner that will create a complete 3D model of the building for posterity. The laser scanner is the latest in non-invasive scanning technology and will allow the company to accurately recreate -- within millimeters -- the exterior of the building, built in 1926. The building was purchased by Dallas-based Provident Realty in mid-March -- and will be converted into 90 urban loft-style apartments.
