Buggy Bandit Behind Bars

Shreveport police think they've caught up with the man they'd dubbed the "Buggy Bandit." Back on January 24th, employees of the Dollar Tree store on Shreveport/Barksdale Highway noticed a man loading some of the store's shopping carts into the bed of his pickup. The store manager tried to stop him, but the guy drove off with the carts. The investigation into that theft eventually led police to 52-year-old Harvey Jenkins. He's now been arrested at his home on Abe Street. Even though police have caught up with Jenkins, they have not recovered the shopping carts which, they say, were sold for scrap -- three of them shortly after the theft was reported.
