[UPDATE, October 20, 2015]  The suspect jailed in yesterday's Queensborough standoff is identified as 56-year-old Albert Jackson. The victim, Roosevelt Mitchell, continues to recover from the attack.

[UPDATE]  The suspect in this morning's hammer attack in Queensborough is now in custody.

Corporal Marcus Hines says he was arrested without incident.

[UPDATE] According to Police Corporal Marcus Hines, a man stumbled into a business in the Queensborough area. He'd been attacked with a hammer and is expected to be O.K. The suspect was also believed to have been armed with a gun.

The SWAT and SRT Teams are at a home in the 3600 block of Judson Street, at the intersection of the 2500 block of Jewella, trying to make contact with the suspect. He's believed to be the only one inside the home.

Roads around the area have been blocked until police can diffuse the situation.

[ORIGINAL STORY]  Two dozen Shreveport units are on the scene of a reported assault and battery at Judson and Jewella in the Queensborough neighborhood.

According to the Shreveport Police Twitter feed, a suspect has assaulted a man with a hammer and is holed up inside a home in the 3600 block of Jewella.
