BPCC Graduation Ceremony To Set Record

Once again, Bossier Parish Community College not only records the highest spring enrollment in its forty-four year history, the College is set to graduate its highest number of students during two graduation ceremonies on Friday, May 11 in the Health & Physical Education Complex at 6220 E. Texas St.

Credentials will be awarded to 372 graduates, making this spring’s graduation the largest on record. Spring 2011 awarded 344 graduates with credentials.

“The two words that drive everything that we do at BPCC are access and success,” said Chancellor Jim Henderson. “At the beginning of each recent semester, we have announced record enrollment. Today, we are proud to announce record completions. Each of these graduates is now prepared for success in the workforce or at the next level of education. As a result, the future quality of life in our community looks brighter, and the competitive advantage our employers enjoy in the form of developed talent has never been stronger.”

Students will be awarded associate degrees, technical diplomas, certificates, and technical competency areas in BPCC’s six academic divisions. Students in the Division of Science, Nursing, and Allied Health will graduate in the 9:30 am ceremony. The 2:30 pm ceremony will include those students in the divisions of Behavioral and Social Sciences; Business; Communication and Performing Arts; Liberal Arts; and Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.

Commencement speaker for the Science, Nursing, and Allied Health graduation ceremony is U.S. Congressman Bill Cassidy, M.D. Karen Musgrove, Director of Public Relations at BPCC, is the commencement speaker for the 2:30 pm ceremony.
