On a recent trip to a Taipei museum, a 12-year-old Taiwanese schoolboy tripped while admiring the paintings. And when he put out his hand to steady himself, he tore a fist sized hole in a $1.5 million work of art..

The incident, at Taipei's Huashan creative arts center, was captured on closed-circuit television footage from inside the gallery.

"Flowers", a painting by 17th century Italian artist Paolo Porpora, was one of 55 works on display at a special exhibit.

According to museum curators, the damage will be paid for by insurance and restoration is already underway.
