It was February 11, 1990. Mike Tyson was the heavyweight champion of the world. He was undefeated. He was invincible. He was a 42 - 1 favorite over lightly regarded challenger Buster Douglas. And in the biggest upset in boxing history, the mighty Tyson lost.

Not only did Tyson lose, but he was knocked out. He was pummeled to the canvas by a flurry of Douglas' punches that left the baddest man on the planet semi-conscious, on his hands and knees searching blindly for his mouthpiece.

It was 25 years ago today that Buster Douglas, the greatest underdog in boxing history, became the heavyweight champ. It was a reign that lasted less than a year. Douglas lost eight months later to Evander Holyfield in his only title defense.

And Tyson? Today, retired and a movie star of sorts, the former champ says, "It was a great fight. It was one of my best. I took that beating like a man."
