The Bossier/Webster District Attorney's Office has handed the Bossier Sheriff's Office a check for nearly $16,000.

The money comes from asset forfeiture allocations as a result of recent drug and other investigations.  The funds come from vehicles, other property, money, and bank accounts that were seized in 23 different cases, most of them narcotics cases.

You may remember that Bossier Parish Sheriff Julian Whittington and Bossier City Police Chief Shane McWilliams pooled their resources back in 2012 to create the Bossier Combined Narcotics Task Force.  "Our combined narcotics team does an outstanding job of keeping illegal drugs off the streets of Bossier Parish," said Whittington. "These funds...represent a lot of hard work by our team and will help with our continued fight against illegal drug and criminal activity."
