Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington will host the North Louisiana Criminal Justice Academy graduation of 19 law enforcement officers of Class 014 later this week.

The ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Bossier Sheriff's Office training facility on Old Plain Dealing Road. The guest speaker is 26th Judicial District Court Judge Jeff Cox.

The soon-to-be graduates began an intensive 12-week training program back in August, learning about topics like officer survival, active shooter, weapons qualifications and chemical weapons. They're now ready to complete their Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) certification.

Class 014 grads are from five agencies: Bossier City and Many Police Departments, Bossier and Webster Parish Sheriff's Offices, and the Bossier City Marshal's Office.
