Bossier Police Prepare to Activate Armed Robbery Task Force

Careful — there just might be a cop in that cooler! That’s the message the Bossier City Police Department wants to send to would-be robbers. The department activates its annual Armed Robbery Task Force this Friday with anywhere from five to ten officers at any given time watching for criminal activity — particularly armed robberies. Sgt. Bart Cavanaugh says officers will be on the streets and in the stores — maybe even hiding out in a cooler. Some will be in uniform — some will be in plain clothes. In short, you never know where you might encounter an officer — or a sheriff’s deputy, for that matter — because the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office will also activate its armed robbery task force this Friday.
