What happened to Clinton Nelson? It's been almost nine years, and nobody has seen or heard from him.

He was 20 years old when he arrived in our area from South Dakota to get to know his biological father, who was living in Haughton. Clinton had only been here a few months when went to a party in Princeton September 1, 2006, and was last seen leaving a friend's residence on foot around Ward Lane and Highway 80.

His mother, Carolyn Johnson, told 710 KEEL people who were at the party had different accounts of what happened.

"Some have said that he just took off running into the woods," she said. "And others have said he may have gotten a ride and gone someplace else with someone that was at the party."

Johnson said a few people who were at the party still haven't been located, and she believes one of them might be connected to her son's disappearance. She said she's never stopped trying to find out what happened to Clinton.

"We've taken every opportunity to bring awareness to my son's disappearance," Johnson said. "Trying to get posters up, try to get it out on the national level, try to keep it in the news. Just make people aware."

Johnson said Clinton has missed out on so many special events, including the birth of his son Austin, who was born a month and a half after Clinton disappeared. She's not hopeful he'll be found alive, but she does want closure, so she's created a Facebook page about Clinton. Bossier sheriff's deputies are hoping someone will come forward with information that can help solve this cold case, very much like the Bossier Doe case was solved months ago.

Johnson posted this message on the Find-Clinton Devon Nelson page just two days ago:

Hey everyone - I have a request please. As some of you know I am headed to Louisiana tomorrow in search of answers about what happened to my son Clinton, who disappeared/died almost nine years ago. I will be hanging posters, talking to law enforcement, and hopefully the media. Please pray that the people who have answers will be aware that we are there, and pray for them to finally come forward with answers!! It's time to bring Find-Clinton Devon Nelson home where he belongs!!

If you know anything that might help, call Bossier Crime Stoppers at 318-424-4100.
