A big Fourth of July rally is being held in Bossier City Thursday afternoon.

Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington is inviting the public to come to the Sheriff's Substation on Viking Drive from one until four Thursday and sign a pledge showing your support for the "In God We Trust" campaign.  The federal government has denied a grant for the Bossier Sheriff's Young Marines and Youth Diversion programs because of the mention of God and voluntary prayer in the programs.  Sheriff Whittington says this rally is a way to send a message to Washington -- a wake up call, if you will -- that it's our time to stand and say, "In God We Trust."  American flags, hot dogs, and cold drinks will be available at the rally and there'll be a large "In God We Trust" banner there that you can sign.
