A woman who was scorned by her ex-boyfriend was arrested on Monday for burning down the cabin where he lived, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

Brenda Fore was arrested for setting fire to a bed inside the cedar cabin located on a farm in Blanchard's Nob Hill subdivision. The fire destroyed the cabin, causing damage estimated at $30,000.

Fore told detectives that she went to the farm looking for her ex-boyfriend on February 17. She scaled an 8-10 foot fence to reach the cabin, but didn't find her ex at home. Fore used a lighter to set the bed on fire and then fled, climbing back over the fence, said Sheriff's Detective Donnie Laney, who investigated the case along with Rusty Edwards of the State Fire Marshal's Office.

Fore, 57, of the 2800 block of Misty Lane in Bossier City, was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for simple arson.
