Bossier City Police Investigating Apparent Murder-Suicide on Airline Drive
Bossier City police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide. City spokesman Mark Natale says police arrived at the Texture and Tones Hair Studio and Boutique in the 1600 block of Airline Drive around 4:30 yesterday afternoon to find a man and a woman dead.
Violent Crimes Unit detectives identified the man as 43-year-old Lavance Deshannon Williams and the woman as 33-year-old Lashontay Jimese Lewis, both of Minden. They say Williams apparently shot Lewis shortly after he arrived at the business, which houses a tax service that Lewis operated. Then he shot himself.
Several people, including the couple's 11-year-old son, were inside the salon at the time, but none of them were hurt. Police say they have no records of prior incidents involving the couple.
The shooting had traffic blocked on Airline and Patricia for a while during busy drive-home traffic. Officers are still on the scene this morning, trying to determine what happened to lead to the shooting.
