Bossier City Police Department Seeking Jailers

The Bossier City Police Department is currently taking applications for jailers. The starting annual pay for the position is just over $31,000 -- and candidates are eligible for state supplemental pay of $500 a month after one year on the job. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and successfully pass a civil service test, as well as medical, psychological and physical fitness exams. They must also have a valid Louisiana driver's license and have completed high school education or its equivalent. The BCPD offers medical and dental coverage with optional dependent coverage available...along with paid vacation and holidays -- and military and sick leave. Applications are available at the administrative offices on the second floor of the police department on Benton Road. The deadline to apply is August 30th.
