The national military support group known as Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve has recognized the Bossier City Police Department and one of its deputy police chiefs.

Deputy Chief Daryl Worley has received ESGR's Patriot Award which honors employers who demonstrate extraordinary support and understanding for employees who have answered the call to serve their country.  The department currently has about a dozen officers who are also serving with the National Guard and Reserves and Worley, himself, is a former member of the Louisiana National Guard.

Worley was nominated for the award by Sergeant Michael Booker who's in the Guard and works under Worley's supervision in the Bossier City Police Department's Information Services Division. Northwest Louisiana ESGR Committee Chairman Jim Hill was on hand to make the presentation.
