A Bossier City man is in jail on 14 different charges -- after attempting to evade Bossier Sheriff's deputies who were trying to stop him for several traffic violations. Deputies say Dwight Thomas, Jr., was driving west on East Texas Street when deputies noticed he had no license plate light, several vision obscurements, wasn't wearing a seat belt, and crossed the fog line. When they attempted to pull him over, he turned down Tinsley Drive and into the Fountain Lake Apartments, sped up and jumped out of the moving car, which crashed into a parked car at the complex. He ran into the K-mart parking lot, where he was caught by another deputy. A K-9 unit was called to the car -- and that's where deputies found a suspected bag of marijuana in the center console. Then they discovered the car's license plate had been switched, the car had no insurance, and the registration was expired. Thomas didn't have a driver's license...but he did have three previous marijuana charges. He's in bossier max on over $13,000 bond.
