A mid-morning fire has damaged a house in the 2600 block of Douglas Drive in Bossier City.

Firefighters got the call about 10:30 and arrived to find smoke and flames coming from the front of the house. The occupants got out safely and firefighters were able to rescue their pet dog.  The fire appears to have originated in, and was confined to, the kitchen but its exact cause is under investigation.
