Sixteen years ago, Brad Zagone joined the Bossier City Fire Department. Today, he's the appointed chief of that department -- chosen from a field of thirty-two applicants by Mayor Lo Walker.Zagone says he's honored to be chosen -- and knows he's going to have his work cut out for him. Zagone's appointment is contingent on his passing the Fire Chief's Civil Service test on the 29th of this month. Mayor Walker says he has no doubt that Zagone will do just fine on that exam. Zagone becomes only the seventh chief in the history of the department. He succeeds Sammy Halphen who retired at the end of the year to become Director of Homeland Security for Bossier Parish.
