Some Bossier City residents have been asked to boil their water. That's because a water main at the intersection of Swan Lake Road and Shed Road broke yesterday. When it did, residents and businesses within about a four-block radius of that intersection lost water or experienced low water pressure for several hours. So, as a precaution, the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals has requested that those who were effected boil their water before consuming it until the water quality can be tested. City officials say the advisory pertains only to water used for consumption and they stress that it's strictly voluntary.
