An early-afternoon fire has damaged a vacant Bossier City Apartment building.

Firefighters were called to the Coleman Street Apartments in the 1100 block of Coleman, near Bossier High School, just after 1:00.  When they got there a few minutes later, they found smoke and flames coming from the two-story brick building.

It only took about 10 minutes to bring the fire under control, but firefighters remained on the scene for more than an hour mopping up and looking for hot spots.  Since the building was vacant, there were no injuries.  Cause of the fire is still under investigation.
