Bossier Arts Council Mural

Perhaps you've seen the brightly-colored mural on the south wall of the Bossier Arts Council building as you drive by on I-20.  There's an interesting story behind that mural.  The artwork that inspired it was drawn by student Ashley Schaffer.  It's called "Blowing Bubbles" and it won Best in Show in the Spring 2011 Bossier Parish Student Art Show.  The Arts Council commissioned reknowned professional mural artist Chris Opp -- a Bossier City native -- to recreate Ashley's artwork on the wall.  Now it's a 25'  X 25' mural for all to see.  It will be formally unveiled at 3:00 this afternoon.
