ORIGINAL STORY:  A man robbed outside a hotel in Bossier City this afternoon takes matters into his own hands, shooting the suspect who tried to make off with his belongings.

Police spokesman Mark Natale tells KEEL News at around 1:30 p.m., the victim was sitting in his vehicle at Homewood Suites Hotel at Old Minden and Preston Boulevard, when he was approached by a male.

Police say the suspect demanded the man's wallet and cell phone, which he handed over. But before the bandit could get away, the victim pulled out his own handgun and told the suspect to drop the items. The suspect turned and pointed his gun at the victim, who fired his weapon, hitting the suspect in the arm.

The robber soon showed up at University Health for treatment. Detectives went there to interview him, and will charge him with armed robbery once he's released.

No names have been released so far.
