A boozing burglar has landed himself in jail. Shortly after 5 a.m. Thursday (Feb. 28), Shreveport police officers received a call about an alarm going off at the Circle K in the 300 block of Kings Highway. They talked with a store employee, who told them the front door of the store was found unlocked and ajar.

After reviewing the business' surveillance video, they learned that the man, 43-year-old Ronald Oskay, had apparently spent the night in the store's restroom after the business closed.

During his stay, he can be seen walking into the beer cooler and drinking several alcoholic beverages. After that, he walks out of the store, only to return a short time later to grab several packages of tobacco products and lighters.

Investigating officers recognized the man and were able to locate him nearby. Oskay had the stolen tobacco products and lighters on him, they said.

Oskay was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on a simple burglary charge.
