Louisiana lawmakers are so far cool to the idea of adding liquor-infused ice cream to the frozen ice cream section of your neighborhood grocery store. Lawmakers are skeptical about the prospect of Louisiana retailers stocking ice cream which contain liquor such as whiskey or vodka.

Louisiana lawmakers outlawed wine ice cream in 2013.

State liquor lobbyists are hopeful that something can be worked out, but lawmakers will need to ensure that these products will require a legal ID to purchase.

The committee may revisit this proposal again on April 10.
