Bones Found on Sandbar in Red River

Bones are found on a sandbar in Red River In Caddo Parish.

Caddo Deputies were alerted by the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries that a bone was found on the sandbar, which is about a mile north of Cash Point Landing. The Caddo Sheriff's Marine Unit collected the bone from the sandbar and turned it over to the Caddo Coroner's Office. Deputies with the Marine Unit returned to the scene and found several more bones.

It is not known if they are human remains.

The sandbar is located in the middle of Red River about 30 to 40 yards from the bank, but is accessible by walking in shallow water from private property. The bones were located near a tree and other brush.
