House Speaker John Boehner says some Republicans aren't as sensitive as they should be when they campaign against female candidates.

Boehner says male House members need to be a little more sensitive. He was responding Thursday to a story in Politico saying the House GOP's campaign arm is teaching senior aides what their bosses should say when campaigning, particularly if their rivals are women.

Boehner points out there are more women in the Democratic caucus than in the GOP caucus.

In 2012, Republican Senate candidates Todd Akin and Richard Mourdock made comments about rape that contributed to their defeat.

The Democratic National Committee says in a statement that the issue with women is GOP policies — not sensitivity training.
